Ichie is a personal CRM for remembering the people you meet at events. I designed it and built it, from the first idea to the live app I use myself.

The name comes from ichigo ichie, a Japanese idea that means "one time, one meeting". Every encounter happens once and won't happen the same way again.

The problem

I kept leaving events with a few names in my notes and no real way to follow up. LinkedIn felt too formal. My notes app was a mess. I had nowhere to log who I met, what we talked about, and when I might want to get in touch again.

How it works

You log the people you meet, attach them to the event where you met, and add notes each time you're in touch.

Ichie connects to Luma and pulls in the attendee list, so you don't have to add people by hand when you already saw them on the guest list.

The app also suggests who to reconnect with. The suggestions are based on how long it's been since you were last in touch and what you have in common. They run on Groq.

Designing it

I wanted it to feel like a notebook, not a dashboard. Clean type, lots of white space and a restrained colour palette.

The design system covers person cards, event entries, timeline views and the interaction log.

Building it

I built the first version at the Zero to Agent London hackathon in May 2026.

It's a Next.js app using the App Router. Supabase handles the database, sign-in and row-level security, and it's deployed on Vercel.

Where it is now

Live, and I use it after events myself, which keeps me honest about what needs fixing. Next on the list: a richer timeline for each person, better follow-up suggestions, and a simpler onboarding flow.
